What does the future of hospitality look like? What are the expectations of future guests? In which way has Covid changed the world and what kind of influence will it have on the future of hospitality? Are we on the verge of changing the generation of the hotel industry as we know it?

Very likely! A lot of things have changed over only last two years, and one thing is clear: creativity, experience and technology are exactly what the guest will be looking for, and it is up to hotels to offer it. Fortunately, we have the solution.

If it is to be believed, New York Times, Hospitality Net, Forbes, Business Insider and experts such as Richard Valtr claim that hotels of the future will resemble more to the hotel of the past, but in what sense? In a world as fast as today’s, we don’t have time to look back or smile to a stranger, most of our time we are just running from one location to another.

Technology and experience

Hotel of the future will bring us back to core values and it is the technology that will enable the hotel to predict our wishes and needs. A hotel will not only be a brand or a global standard provider but it will also be transformed into a place that recognizes its guests and fulfills their wishes.

Technology will help unburden the hotel staff, so they can focus on what they do the best, being creative, ingenious and providing unique service. Brands that will manage to exceed guests’ expectations and leave an indelible trace in their memories will become winners of the new hospitality technology era. After all, travelers give something special to hoteliers: a wish for an unforgettable experience. They stay at the hotel expecting to be taken care of and we should do our best to create that unforgettable impression that will bring them back to the same place in the future.

Špica has an answer to that because we care about the experience and we love technology!

Sustainable energy and savings

In the near future hotels will have to focus on sustainability and green energy, both because of themselves and the guests. The benefits of solar energy should be seized, energy and heat use reduced, air circulation improved, more efficient lighting installed, and ecologically acceptable materials used.

Only in the United States, millennials have become the predominant workforce, and by 2034, the entire generation Z will be employed. Members of these generations are environmentally conscious, they want green energy and they live according to these principles. According to research conducted in Great Britain, millennials are twice as likely to support environmentally and socially aware brands and they are not afraid to communicate their opinions publicly.

Špica knows how because we also think green!

Flexibility and safety

Finally, guests are looking for flexibility and we must provide it. Flexibility should be expanded to such an extent that the configuration and size of the rooms can be easily adapted according to the guests' needs, and new technologies should be adapted for seamless retrofitting without the need to break the walls down.

We must think big, wide, even strange. There is no reason why the hotel of the future shouldn't start already today. Špica has all that is required to make it happen, and the sooner we start with the implementation, the sooner the investment will start to pay off.
